Bar, Retiro Park, Madrid

One of our favourite bars in the park, at last on a sunny day!

First time out with the watercolours, what a nice way to pass a couple of hours!

Watercolour Fun

In my continued mission to become an Urban Sketcher, I thought I’d start adding some watercolour to my drawings, starting at home before venturing into the field!

Here are the first experiments:

There is of course a ton of useful info on-line about how to start doing all this, but I particularly liked this post, How I Sketch: Part Two, Demonstration, despite being obsessed, as a typical beginner, with all the nice things I can buy in her previous post, How I Sketch: Part One, Materials.

All the above sketches were made with a Pigma Micron Pen, a Cotman watercolour travel kit, and a Pentel waterbrush, which is a most fantastic invention!
